A collision led to Santos Dumont FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Osvaldinho Prata hit a great ball. Dráuzio Barral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Rodriguinho Oliveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Bebeto Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Santos Dumont FC's Cauã Trancoso got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bebeto Matos hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Wilian Mello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodriguinho Oliveira having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dráuzio Barral got free with Rodriguinho Oliveira in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Osvaldinho Prata kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Praia do Pontal's Thiago Favoretto got a free kick in the 39th minute. Guga Romero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorginho Freitas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute, Wilian Mello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Praia do Pontal's zone, Cauã Trancoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guga Romero came out of the goal and Cauã Trancoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Santos Dumont FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Dráuzio Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodriguinho Oliveira having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorginho Freitas in the 57th minute of play forced Praia do Pontal's goalkeeper Guga Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dráuzio Barral in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodriguinho Oliveira saved Santos Dumont FC from getting behind. Mazinho Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Rodriguinho Oliveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dráuzio Barral in the 62nd minute of the match. Thiago Favoretto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cauã Trancoso hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute Dráuzio Barral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodriguinho Oliveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 83 minutes, Dráuzio Barral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Praia do Pontal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dráuzio Barral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Santos Dumont FC's zone, Bebeto Matos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodriguinho Oliveira came out of the goal and Bebeto Matos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dráuzio Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodriguinho Oliveira having to interfere. Jorginho Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mazinho Amaral charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mazinho Amaral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 92nd minute, Mazinho Amaral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Dráuzio Barral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rodriguinho Oliveira was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. If Dráuzio Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chants of Santos Dumont FC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Praia do Pontal had held the ball for most of the match.
