Tadeu Cearense was left in no man's land by his defense there! 29 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Divinopolis's Otávio Trancoso fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. 33 minutes into the game, Yan Domingues was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Divinopolis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paulino the free kick. Yan Domingues kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Virgílio Rosado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tadeu Cearense having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Otávio Trancoso in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Osvaldinho Paraense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kiko de Lara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tadeu Cearense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Yan Domingues hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute Daniel Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldinho Paraense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Divinopolis's Otávio Trancoso got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Virgílio Rosado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Divinopolis's Daniel Queiroz got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Walmyr de Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tadeu Cearense having to interfere. It was beautiful to see Divinopolis's Oséas Leme in action when he in the 66th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Osvaldinho Paraense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gustavo Barreto went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otávio Trancoso in the 76th minute of play forced Paulino's goalkeeper Osvaldinho Paraense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
