Cratheus SS's Doriva Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Pedro Neiva in the 10th minute of play. Thomás de Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélder Donatello, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Doriva Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Pedro Neiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélder Donatello in the 16th minute of play forced Palmeiras's goalkeeper Thomás de Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot by Eugênio Almeida from long distance, 27 minutes into the match, got Thomás de Carvalho's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 28 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goalkeeper Thomás de Carvalho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aníbal Marinho. Cléber Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 55th minute, Serginho Toscano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 82nd minute, Hernani Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute of the match Eugênio Almeida sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thomás de Carvalho skillfully saved the ball. After 84 minutes of play, Cratheus SS's Aníbal Marinho made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thomás de Carvalho was left in no man's land by his defense there! 87 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Túlio Godoi came free, but Thomás de Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Pedro Neiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Túlio Godoi in the 96th minute of play forced Palmeiras's goalkeeper Thomás de Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Cratheus SS were victorious despite being under pressure from Palmeiras for much of the match.
