Joaquim Saldanha might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Válbson da Costa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joaquim Saldanha ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Gaucho SS's Válbson da Costa got control of the ball when Zézinho Urbano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Válbson da Costa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zézinho Urbano in the 6th minute. João Adolfo Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilmar Pirani having to interfere. Gilmar Pirani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Adolfo Quintal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zézinho Urbano in the 20thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Válbson da Costa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 21 minutes into the match, Enio Cruz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilmar Pirani. Xodó da Vovó A.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Enio Cruz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rodrigo de Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. After 44 minutes of play, Gaucho SS's João Adolfo Quintal made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gilmar Pirani was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when João Adolfo Quintal made the kick off in the second half. Zézinho Urbano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Augusto Mangueira hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 69th minute of the match, Enio Cruz got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gilmar Pirani was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 71st match minute, Xodó da Vovó A.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dadá Netto to maneuver through the defense. João Paulo Koehler thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Válbson da Costa, a very annoying self made goal in the 93rd minute which led to 1-3. When the final whistle sounded Gaucho SS left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Xodó da Vovó A.C..
