After 9 played minutes, Gaucho SS's Oséias Meirelles shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Arlindo de Queiroz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gaucho SS reached it. Arlindo de Queiroz was a little too slow when João Adolfo Quintal got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 10th minute. The score was now 2-0. Enio Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Arlindo de Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fernando dos Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Válbson da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute of the match Zé Paulo Lopes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Válbson da Costa skillfully saved the ball. If Haroldo Dracena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute, Enio Cruz made a precise shot to the right of Arlindo de Queiroz. Cercado's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. In the 45th minute of the match, Enio Cruz got a very nice opportunity to score, but Arlindo de Queiroz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 47 minutes into the match, Cercado's goalkeeper Arlindo de Queiroz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enio Cruz. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fernando dos Santos to strike the kick off in the second half. Hortêncio Souza in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Válbson da Costa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Arlindo de Queiroz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matheus de Amaral in the 54th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Enio Cruz in the 75th managed to get into a good position. Arlindo de Queiroz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
