Maurício Netto came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Maripa's Otávio Couto. But to his dismay, Otávio Couto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Wesley Martins hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute Diego Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurício Netto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Guilherme de Lara hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Poetass FC's Nicolas Dantas got a free kick in the 38th minute. The audience was convinced that Diego Sampaio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maurício Netto was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. A collision led to Poetass FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Orlando Silveira hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Dráuzio de Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poetass FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dráuzio de Brito was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fernando Barbosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maurício Netto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Gustavo Vinhas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Poetass FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Maripa were winning 0-2.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Sampaio in the 52nd minute of play forced Poetass FC's goalkeeper Maurício Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Diego Sampaio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maripa's supporters rose to their feet, but Diego Sampaio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maurício Netto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maripa's Otávio Couto got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 63 minutes into the game, Diego Sampaio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Maurício Netto. Diego Sampaio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. Maurício Netto was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Ruy Cardoso capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ruy Cardoso really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. With a little luck, Poetass FC's Maurício Netto got control of the ball when Otávio Couto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Diego Sampaio might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maurício Netto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Diego Sampaio ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 81st minute, Luiz Gustavo Vinhas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Otávio Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maurício Netto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruy Cardoso in the 89th minute of the match. When the match was over Maripa could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Poetass FC throughout the match.
