In the 30th minute, Flamengo RJ's Benedito Brasil ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcelo Schmidt. Marcelo Schmidt yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. In the 40th match minute, Iuna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedrinho Britto to maneuver through the defense. If Carlos Augusto Breckenfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benedito Brasil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedrinho Britto made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Válter Toledo got free with Olívio Vergílio in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 53rd play minute Válter Toledo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Olívio Vergílio. 1-2. Olívio Vergílio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlinhos Lago in the 58th minute of the match. Flamengo RJ's Carlos Augusto Breckenfeld got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 63 minutes into the match, Flamengo RJ's goalkeeper Olívio Vergílio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eugênio Sá. After a rather tough play, Flamengo RJ's Augusto Toledo got a free kick in the 66th minute. Iuna's Pedrinho Britto got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcelo Schmidt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Augusto Breckenfeld in the 70th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Carlos Augusto Breckenfeld's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelo Schmidt was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Flamengo RJ had held the ball for most of the match.
