Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Alberto Monteiro started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Frederico Novaes came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Hannover Football Club's Claudinei Ramos. But to his dismay, Claudinei Ramos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Frederico Novaes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinei Ramos, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Frederico Novaes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinei Ramos in the 21st minute of play. The Hannover Football Club fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Hannover Football Club's Alberto Monteiro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 26 minutes into the match, Alberto Monteiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Frederico Novaes. Corinthians's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alberto Monteiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Corinthians's Frederico Novaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Ramos in the 30th minute of play. After some careless play in the Corinthians defense, Sílvio Koehler kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Frederico Novaes. The Corinthians fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Frederico Novaes should have stopped the shot. Frederico Novaes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Monteiro went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Corinthians's Edinho Correia got a free kick in the 42nd minute. A collision led to Corinthians getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Rodriguinho Rosa hit a great ball. After the first half Hannover Football Club were leading 0-8. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vágner Faria to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Claudinei Ramos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Frederico Novaes. That made the score 0-9 in the 51 minute of play. Vágner Faria kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Hannover Football Club's Mete Gol was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 63rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Frederico Novaes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mete Gol in the 66th minute of the match. 72 minutes into the game, Edinho Correia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corinthians's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hannover Football Club the free kick. When Rodriguinho Rosa fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Corinthians's protests and gave Rodriguinho Rosa a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Corinthians getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Rodriguinho Rosa hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Monteiro in the 75th minute of play forced Corinthians's goalkeeper Frederico Novaes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto Monteiro scored 0-13 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Frederico Novaes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 79 minutes into the game, Vágner Faria was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corinthians's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hannover Football Club the free kick. In the 79th match minute, Corinthians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vágner Faria to maneuver through the defense. Vasile Blănaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederico Novaes having to interfere. Fábio Pirani hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Frederico Novaes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alberto Monteiro's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. The supporters of Corinthians booed when Hannover Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reginaldo Loureiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over Hannover Football Club could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Corinthians throughout the match.
