Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alberto Monteiro to make the kick off. Al-Nassr Football Club's Benedito de Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Monteiro in the 52nd minute of play. Arthur Paraibano hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 54th match minute, Al-Nassr Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedito Tande to maneuver through the defense. Walmyr Neto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito de Azevedo having to interfere. Mete Gol recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Édouard Mendy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomás Barreto in the 63rd minute of the match. Mete Gol hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. 70 minutes into the match, Hannover Football Club's Vasile Blănaru sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benedito de Azevedo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Benedito de Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Monteiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Benedito de Azevedo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mete Gol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
