After having played for 10 minutes, Mauro Zárate managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nueva Chicago's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mauro Zárate was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 15th minute Mauro Zárate shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Lordi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carmelo Bizen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Lordi having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Zárate in the 20th minute of play forced Paloma Blanca's goalkeeper Francisco Lordi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gaston Lawrence showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jairo Cesaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. If Carmelo Bizen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mauro Zárate to make the kick off. Carmelo Bizen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Francisco Lordi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rigoberto Reynardo kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Carmelo Bizen came free with the goalkeeper in the 58th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Francisco Lordi could save by the left post. In the 62nd match minute, Nueva Chicago was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Zárate to maneuver through the defense. Jairo Cesaro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emanuel Poz lost his temper 71 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 70th minute, one of Paloma Blanca:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Paloma Blanca. In the 73rd minute there was a penalty for Nueva Chicago. Clemente Aznaro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Francisco Lordi. 0-3. The audience was convinced that Mauro Zárate's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Francisco Lordi was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Carmelo Bizen's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Francisco Lordi firmly grabbed it by the left post. Mauro Zárate sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paloma Blanca's Francisco Lordi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Zárate in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th match minute, Paloma Blanca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Lucero to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Paloma Blanca getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Arturo Lucero hit a great ball. When Jairo Cesaro fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paloma Blanca's protests and gave Jairo Cesaro a yellow card for diving instead. After 88 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Paloma Blanca! After some careless play in the Paloma Blanca defense, Clemente Aznaro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Francisco Lordi. The Paloma Blanca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Francisco Lordi should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Honorato Gotzon in the 96th minute of play forced Paloma Blanca's goalkeeper Francisco Lordi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 101st minute Nueva Chicago were awarded a corner. Clemente Aznaro went to the cornerflag to take it. Jairo Cesaro thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Francisco Lordi, a very annoying self made goal in the 101st minute which led to 0-5. Nueva Chicago's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
