Lucio Claus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Sazon, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. If Mariano Sazon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carmelo Enaut sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd match minute, MANDIYU was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Jenaro to maneuver through the defense. Carmelo Enaut received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Pablo Chano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tronco Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MANDIYU the free kick. After 32 played minutes Tronco Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Elias Jobo. In the 33rd minute Carmelo Enaut shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pablo Chano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gavino Giraldo's late challenge caught a MANDIYU's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gavino Giraldo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 40th minute, Gavino Giraldo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eulalio Avellaneda hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. If Mariano Sazon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After a defensive mix-up in Tronco Juniors's zone, Carmelo Enaut stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pablo Chano came out of the goal and Carmelo Enaut tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 60th minute Carmelo Enaut shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pablo Chano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st match minute, Tronco Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacobo Belmiro to maneuver through the defense. Manuel Jenaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Pablo Chano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The goalkeeper, Lucio Claus, was totally fooled by Tronco Juniors's Gavino Giraldo, who 70 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 73rd play minute Mariano Sazon came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Lucio Claus. 0-2. Benedicto Cordarin hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After 90 minutes, Jacobo Belmiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tronco Juniors and the MANDIYU players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Tronco Juniors's Jacobo Belmiro got a free kick in the 90th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Sazon in the 93rd minute of play forced MANDIYU's goalkeeper Lucio Claus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benedicto Cordarin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Lucio Claus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 100th minute, Manuel Jenaro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pablo Chano was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The Tronco Juniors supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tronco Juniors would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
