With a little luck, Internazionale Milano's Tobias Maurino got control of the ball when Osvaldo Godoy tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alberto Menendo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tobias Maurino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Alberto Menendo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tobias Maurino was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Osvaldo Godoy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobias Maurino having to interfere. Tobias Maurino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Osvaldo Godoy in the 36th minute. Alberto Menendo succeeded in the game's 40th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. After 44th play minutes Alberto Menendo shot 3-1, a short shot which went by Tobias Maurino and just under the crossbar into goal. Alberto Menendo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

If Osvaldo Godoy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Niceto Johans kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Candelaria's zone, Gregorio Quinito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcial Jatsu came out of the goal and Gregorio Quinito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tobias Maurino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Menendo in the 67th minute of the match. In the 70th minute Osvaldo Godoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobias Maurino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Alberto Menendo came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Candelaria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Menendo couldn't finish the play. In the 74th minute Osvaldo Godoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobias Maurino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tobias Maurino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Menendo, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Eriberto Lordi in the 80thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Tobias Maurino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
