In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Arcena's goalkeeper Daniel Howson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edward Saunders fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vince Piercy having to interfere. After 23 minutes, Stuart Welch mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the South Shields and the Arcena players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to South Shields getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Stuart Welch hit a great ball. Rio Lyons recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edward Saunders's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vince Piercy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Daniel Howson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ollie Stockdale's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. In the 32nd minute, Rio Lyons made a precise shot to the right of Vince Piercy. South Shields's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Edward Saunders succeeded in the game's 63rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-0. After a rather tough play, Arcena's Gav Panther got a free kick in the 65th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Edward Saunders managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arcena's supporters rose to their feet, but Edward Saunders was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vince Piercy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 71st minute, Edward Saunders hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd match minute, Arcena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robin Whitworth to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute of the match, Ollie Stockdale tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Daniel Howson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, South Shields's Dom Miller got a free kick in the 76th minute. Edward Saunders received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Vince Piercy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Arcena's Robin Whitworth got a free kick in the 81st minute. Simeon Worth kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the South Shields players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Arcena.
