If Jan Baader had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mohamed Kärgel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jakob Heupel in the 15th minute. Jakob Heupel scored 1-0 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mohamed Kärgel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 23rd minute Jan Baader shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mohamed Kärgel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute, Jakob Heupel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mohamed Kärgel was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Höxter's Mohamed Kärgel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Baader in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute Jan Baader shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mohamed Kärgel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 33 in the game by Jakob Heupel from a close distance when the talented Mohamed Kärgel managed to make a qualified save. Höxter's players were relieved. After 35 minutes, Jörg Göger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eisern Union and the Höxter players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Eisern Union's zone, Gunter Gerster stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adil Bernstein came out of the goal and Gunter Gerster tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mohamed Kärgel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Baader in the 47th minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jörn Schütz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mohamed Kärgel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Baader, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Gunter Gerster might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adil Bernstein. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gunter Gerster ran back to his position shaking his head. When Jörn Schütz came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Höxter fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jörn Schütz couldn't finish the play. In the 74th minute Jakob Heupel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mohamed Kärgel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 77 played minutes Höxter got a freekick which was hit by Pär Schiffer. Moritz Klotzbücher took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 78th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mohamed Kärgel. Höxter's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jörn Schütz struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Adil Bernstein didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Höxter. During the 85th minute of the match Jörg Göger completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Jörg Göger a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 85th minute, Jörg Göger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gunter Gerster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adil Bernstein having to interfere. Mohamed Kärgel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jakob Heupel in the 90th minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Jakob Heupel made a precise shot to the right of Mohamed Kärgel. Höxter's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0.
