The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Centurion Lions. If Mihnea Barbăsură had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 33 played minutes Centurion Lions got a freekick which was hit by Vasile Muntian. In the 35th minute, Lucrețiu Latarețu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Felix Acatincăi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Felix Acatincăi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mihnea Barbăsură in the 41st minute of play. UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's Lucrețiu Latarețu got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mihnea Barbăsură received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Felix Acatincăi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lucrețiu Latarețu to make the kick off. The Centurion Lions fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Felix Acatincăi should have stopped the shot. 69 minutes into the game, one of Centurion Lions:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA fans' excitement grew in the 98th match minute when UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA's Lucrețiu Latarețu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The UNIVERSITATEA CRAIOVA players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
