After 27 minutes of play Pungesti AFC's Cezar Minulescu was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 27th match minute, Pungesti AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cezar Minulescu to maneuver through the defense. 30 minutes into the match, Pungesti AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Sever Buznea came free, but Bogdan Hosu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marius Timofte shot from long distance in the 46th minute, but Marcel Ciomag was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sever Buznea made a kick off. Sever Buznea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogdan Hosu having to interfere. If Olimpiu Siclovan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in The Unity BvB 09's zone, Olimpiu Siclovan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcel Ciomag came out of the goal and Olimpiu Siclovan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcel Ciomag made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olimpiu Siclovan in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute Olimpiu Siclovan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Ciomag saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olimpiu Siclovan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Marcel Ciomag tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Olimpiu Siclovan came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Pungesti AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olimpiu Siclovan couldn't finish the play. If Florin Rareș had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcel Ciomag showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olimpiu Siclovan in the 76th minute of the match. Pungesti AFC's Florin Rareș pulled a muscle in his back after 82 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Radu Banu during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Pungesti AFC booed when The Unity BvB 09 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcel Ciomag showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olimpiu Siclovan, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. 92 minutes into the match, Ion Miclovan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bogdan Hosu. Pungesti AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ion Miclovan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Adrian Abrudan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Although Pungesti AFC had been in control for most of the match, The Unity BvB 09 still came away with the win.
