With a little luck, FC Jäätävä Polte's Perttu Perälä got control of the ball when Raine Kirjonen tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 6 minutes, Rafael Haapaniemi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Metalupuass and the FC Jäätävä Polte players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Vesa Vähä had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vesa Vähä fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Perttu Perälä having to interfere. The supporters of Metalupuass booed when FC Jäätävä Polte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isto Kamppuri didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute, Vesa Vähä left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Metalupuass fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 31st minute Miska Jokiranta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toimi Lindberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Vesa Vähä ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Perttu Perälä was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Raine Kirjonen in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Perttu Perälä saved FC Jäätävä Polte from getting behind. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ohto Hiukka stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Perttu Perälä took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vesa Vähä, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th minute, Raine Kirjonen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Perttu Perälä was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Jaakoppi Vapaniemi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Perttu Perälä came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Metalupuass's Raine Kirjonen. But to his dismay, Raine Kirjonen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Miska Jokiranta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vesa Vähä received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Perttu Perälä tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute Vesa Vähä shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perttu Perälä saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 78 played minutes Metalupuass got a freekick which was hit by Miika Santahuhta. Thanks to some nice moves Miska Jokiranta could shoot a difficult shot in the 79th minute, which Toimi Lindberg however easily saved by the left post. After a rather tough play, Metalupuass's Vesa Vähä got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 84th minute, Vesa Vähä got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Metalupuass's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
