In the 13th minute, Vesa Vähä got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Raine Kirjonen came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Metalupuass fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raine Kirjonen couldn't finish the play. In the 19th minute, Vesa Vähä ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jaakko Joensuu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. When Vesa Vähä fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Metalupuass's protests and gave Vesa Vähä a yellow card for diving instead. Rafael Haapaniemi kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 31st match minute, Kuutamon Kelittäjät was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raimo Kilponen to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Raine Kirjonen took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Jaakko Joensuu to make any attempt to save it. After 39 minutes of play, Kuutamon Kelittäjät's Keijo Pölönen made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Toimi Lindberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Metalupuass! After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Raine Kirjonen made the kick off in the second half. Rami Lehterä sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Jaakoppi Vapaniemi kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. The supporters of Metalupuass booed when Kuutamon Kelittäjät was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Keijo Pölönen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jaakko Joensuu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vesa Vähä's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. If Raine Kirjonen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72ndth minute of the game Vesa Vähä who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kuutamon Kelittäjät's Jaakko Joensuu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 73 played minutes Kuutamon Kelittäjät got a freekick which was hit by Auvo Eerola. Metalupuass's Toimi Lindberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Metalupuass from getting a goal against them. 79 minutes into the match, Vesa Vähä had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jaakko Joensuu. Kuutamon Kelittäjät's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vesa Vähä was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. Keijo Pölönen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toimi Lindberg having to interfere. Rami Lehterä received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Toimi Lindberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 96 minutes, Raine Kirjonen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Metalupuass's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raine Kirjonen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Kuutamon Kelittäjät players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Metalupuass.
