Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Vânderson Carneiro started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Alegrete's goal looked a bit too open when Cléberson Lara came free, but Alex Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celsinho Massa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Celsinho Massa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alex Varela read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Vânderson Carneiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodriguinho Mineiro having to interfere. After 21 minutes, Elivélton Trancoso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alegrete and the The Guardians United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st match minute, Alegrete was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elivélton Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. The Guardians United's Celsinho Massa got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 24th minute, Cléberson Lara fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Alex Varela, passed just outside the right post. 27 minutes into the match, Celsinho Massa notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Alegrete's Alex Varela. Alex Varela was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Juan Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodriguinho Mineiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vânderson Carneiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the The Guardians United defense, Vânderson Carneiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodriguinho Mineiro. The The Guardians United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodriguinho Mineiro should have stopped the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cléberson Lara to strike the kick off in the second half. Rodriguinho Mineiro was a little too slow when Juan Leite got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 1-3. With an all-out effort, Alegrete's Rodriguinho Mineiro threw himself towards the right post 62 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Vânderson Carneiro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 64 played minutes, Alegrete's Cristiano Brito shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rodriguinho Mineiro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Alegrete reached it. The audience was convinced that Celsinho Massa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alex Varela was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Vânderson Carneiro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rodriguinho Mineiro came out and tried to block the shot, but Vânderson Carneiro slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 68th minute. After a rather tough play, Alegrete's Cristiano Brito got a free kick in the 71st minute. Cléberson Lara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alex Varela read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Elivélton Trancoso got his second yellow card in the match during the 74th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 75th minute, Elivélton Trancoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 77 minutes into the match, Alegrete's goal looked a bit too open when Cléberson Lara came free, but Alex Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Juan Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, The Guardians United's Cristiano Arce got a free kick in the 80th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Vânderson Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alegrete's supporters rose to their feet, but Vânderson Carneiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodriguinho Mineiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86th minute, César Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juan Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodriguinho Mineiro having to interfere. In the 88th match minute, The Guardians United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisão Damião to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Vânderson Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alegrete's supporters rose to their feet, but Vânderson Carneiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodriguinho Mineiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juan Leite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Rodriguinho Mineiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Alegrete could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than The Guardians United throughout the match.
