Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lauro Recife started the match with the kick off. Vladimir Oliveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Travassos in the 4th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, Carua's goal looked a bit too open when Lauro Recife came free, but Waldemar Breckenfeld reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lauro Recife fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldemar Breckenfeld having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Lauro Recife reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Waldemar Breckenfeld. The goal made the score 1-0. If Germano Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute, Germano Quadros made a precise shot to the right of Vladimir Oliveira. Itaracema's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Romário Soeiro hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Carua's Paulo Travassos got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Germano Quadros came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Carua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Germano Quadros couldn't finish the play. 44 minutes into the match, Ismael Costa notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Carua's Waldemar Breckenfeld. Waldemar Breckenfeld was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Germano Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimir Oliveira having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulo Travassos to strike the kick off in the second half. If Paulo Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 62 minutes into the game, Renan Jacinto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Itaracema's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carua the free kick. After 63 played minutes Itaracema got a freekick which was hit by Renan Jacinto. In the 64th minute, Paulo Travassos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vladimir Oliveira was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. The supporters of Itaracema booed when Carua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aníbal de Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Germano Quadros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Vladimir Oliveira made a huge save. After 92 minutes of play, Carua's Germano Quadros made it 2-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vladimir Oliveira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Itaracema's Ismael Costa suffered a concussion in the 97th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. After 97 minutes, Hugo Queiroz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carua and the Itaracema players grew even worse after the yellow card. 97 minutes into the game, one of Carua:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
