The referee ignored Sebo de Ovelha MZC's protests and gave Sandrinho Goiano a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th match minute, Uruana SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Catarinense to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Francisco Zanette managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sebo de Ovelha MZC's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Zanette was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dionísio Sena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Oswaldo Brodel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henrique Tavares, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Henrique Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Oswaldo Brodel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Uruana SS booed when Sebo de Ovelha MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Francisco Dionísio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 22 minutes, Elias Diniz made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Sebo de Ovelha MZC's Oswaldo Brodel tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrique Tavares in the 28th minute of play forced Sebo de Ovelha MZC's goalkeeper Oswaldo Brodel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oswaldo Brodel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henrique Tavares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bruno Leão hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After having played for 34 minutes, Francisco Zanette managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sebo de Ovelha MZC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Zanette was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th match minute, Uruana SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnaldo Cearense to maneuver through the defense. Uruana SS's Elias Diniz got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. João Francisco Dionísio hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 41st minute of the match Armando Catarinense shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Oswaldo Brodel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Uruana SS's Elias Diniz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oswaldo Brodel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Charles Catarinense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 62 minutes into the match, Henrique Tavares dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Oswaldo Brodel, 0-2. In the 80th minute Henrique Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oswaldo Brodel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Uruana SS's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
