After some careless play in the Mangotsfield defense, Stuart Mannell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cliff Coyle. The Mangotsfield fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cliff Coyle should have stopped the shot. After having played for 33 minutes, Stuart Mannell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yellow Hornets A.F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Stuart Mannell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The attack was good, but when Camron Wardell in the 45th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Damian Bird to make the kick off. Stuart Mannell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Cliff Coyle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Stuart Mannell's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cliff Coyle was relentless in the 58th minute of the game.
