Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Ronnie Ottaway made the kick off which started today's match. Ronnie Ottaway blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kristian Cain having to make a save. If Russell Green had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 16 minutes into the match, Mangotsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Chip Carey came free, but Albert Pettifer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20th minute Ronnie Ottaway shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristian Cain saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ronnie Ottaway had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albert Pettifer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chip Carey in the 25th minute of play. When Lloyd Alsford came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Manchester City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lloyd Alsford couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chip Carey in the 29th minute of play forced Mangotsfield's goalkeeper Albert Pettifer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Mangotsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Lloyd Alsford came free, but Albert Pettifer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Lloyd Alsford left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Manchester City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Russell Green sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mike Searle during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mike Searle hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Mangotsfield's Neil Hughes-Guy tried to score from far away in the 43rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Neil Hughes-Guy fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mangotsfield's protests and gave Neil Hughes-Guy a yellow card for diving instead. Keanu Pickford shot the penalty kick right outside the post.
After 58 played minutes Manchester City got a freekick which was hit by Steve Cryer. Ronnie Ottaway sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Chip Carey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the match, Manchester City's Chip Carey sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Albert Pettifer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Albert Pettifer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lloyd Alsford in the 79th minute. After 79 played minutes Mangotsfield got a freekick which was hit by Reuben Beck. Lloyd Alsford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albert Pettifer having to interfere. The Manchester City players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
