My players don't accept passes

Watch any of my matches and you'll witness this phenomenon. This happens mostly with simple, short passes (although it happens with pinpoint crossfield passes as well) that should be received and controlled 100% of the time. However, my players (especially the left midfielder, number 11) all too often let the ball pass them by and it goes out for a throw in. Players don't need high ratings in Passing, Ball Control and Play Intelligence to stop and control a short pass like that. I am terrible at football and I'm pretty sure that more than 50% of the time I could stop and control a short pass. The strikers are reluctant to accept passes as well. A lot of the time they let the ball run past them so they can run onto it but it hardly ever works because such things as defenders exist.Watch any of my matches and you'll witness this phenomenon.

the thing is one cannot "accept" passes, its all about ball control in your situation, and unfortunately, it seems as though your players are out of form (play as many friendlies as you can, and then once in form, play 6 every week, 4 friendlies, 2 league) As well, your players could be low on ball control, its good to train up on that skill, as its essential for every position on the fieldthe thing is one cannot "accept" passes, its all about ball control in your situation, and unfortunately, it seems as though your players are out of form (play as many friendlies as you can, and then once in form, play 6 every week, 4 friendlies, 2 league)

Nobody needs 10 balls in ball control just to stop the ball. Even a player with zero balls for that skill should be able to touch the ball when it's slowly moving towards him and he's facing the player who passed to him.Nobody needs 10 balls in ball control just to stop the ball. Nobody needs 7 BC & 4 PI to touch a football. No one will simply ignore a pass that goes straight to them when facing the player who passes to him. Watch Kenny Miller's goal for Cardiff against West Ham yesterday. He's never been a player with a good first touch, often wasting shooting opportunities because of the number of touches he takes, and yesterday he took a bad touch. However, he still made contact with the ball and managed to make the most of the poor first contact he made. MZ players just ignore the ball.Nobody needs 7 BC & 4 PI to touch a football. you have a fair point, it is unrealistic that a ball jsut passes through a players legs rather than him stopping the ball, but the game has to make you work to get up the leagues and be successful, because its a game, and its supposed to be harder as you advance, so yes, maybe the ball control and PI system should be tweeked a bit, but remember, between 0 and 10 Ball control is a huge difference, in real life (if one could measure anothers ball control lol) or in this game!you have a fair point, it is unrealistic that a ball jsut passes through a players legs rather than him stopping the ball, but the game has to make you work to get up the leagues and be successful, because its a game, and its supposed to be harder as you advance, so yes, maybe the ball control and PI system should be tweeked a bit, but remember, between 0 and 10 Ball control is a huge difference, in real life (if one could measure anothers ball control lol) or in this game!

If Manchester United are playing Harrogate Railway the Harrogate players won't ignore the ball if it is passed to them. They won't have the touch and awareness of Wayne Rooney but they can bring a ball under control most of the time. I don't expect MZ players to ALWAYS control a pass but to ignore it is absurd and it looks stupid. And after slagging off Kenny Miller's touch he controlled a pass brilliantly last night to set up Robert Snodgrass' goal against Denmark. But I suppose that supports my point that even a player with a poor touch can control a pass.@ delsur18

My central forward do not accept long passes! He headers to midfielders almost every long pass intended to be an attack. my forward has 8 BC and 8 Intelligence but he seldom take advantage of the accurate long passes defenders send to him.My central forward do not accept long passes!
