Can't be many of me around ;)
Just seen on my club page I have been on the game since 12/6/2003
Back in the day the game was great and my friends and I thought nothing of paying £1.50 via text message to sign up to a cup and leagues were literally a weekend only.
The game itself became much more focused on money and now I can't help but feel it is a bit of an old dog. I do keep checking in to see how the game is looking but the social side of it is well gone whereas the early days the forums were buzzing with activity.
Anyway! Rant and rave over - my team is 20 years old!! Whoop Whoop!!

Big Green Shoe! How mad that you made this thread yesterday and today I randomly thought 'ah, remember that manager game I used to play? I'll see how it's looking 15 years on!'
You wouldn't remember my team anyway, but it was about 2005-2008 that I played properly as a young 15-18 year old lad and my team was called 'Heavens 11' with the username 'Davidabbott1' that wasn't my name, but my mate set the account up, didn't like the game and I just carried on using his account.
Unfortunately, because I didn't log in for a while the team was in active and subsequently deleted, I came back 8 years ago hoping to have millions in the bank... Sadly the dream of beating to big Swedes (as was the case as a young lad) disappeared...
As an aside, I remember trying to graft my way to becoming a forum admin at the time and I actually achieved it, but I wish I had concentrated on my GCSEs with the same vigor...
This place used to be fantastic, and I have some great nostalgic memories. Ever remember the Bollywood thread where people could create subtitles to Indian bollywood movie clips? You may not have seen it at the time, but that was a great time to be on here.
Hope you are well mate and good to see an old timer on here.

I think I remember your username and certainly remember the Indian Bollywood movie clips with subtitles, those were hilarious! Wonder if the website to create the clips is still active after all this years.

Hi Big Green Shoe, I remember the garlic eaters from back in the day! I came back to the game mid December 2022, its not the same as back in the day but I enjoy it.
I also remember heavens 11 as well!
Don't know what happened to others such as swish, QPR etc guess they've all moved on!

Likewise, under the handle of Voetballiefhebber. I am immortalised within the pages of historic issues of The Zone, covering Swish's dominance at that time.
Similar to HitmanHeaney, my inactive account was deleted from the servers. :-(
The game hasn't changed all that much. Same user interface, match engine, Less players in England. I remember starting out in Division 6, whereas I now go straight into 3. For the cost of power tokens, the money certainly isn't invested back into the game!

next Feb would mark my 10 years anniversary on MZ. This current club I'm running is my second one after the last one went bankrupt. I remember that time when I received the warning that my finances were in the negative and had to sell everything. Despite my best efforts I still got kicked out of my own club. I would always remember that one player i bought as my goalkeeper because throughout my entire memory of that club he was my only transfer I ever made. I went on a hiatus for about 5 years (i think?) before I suddenly had this urge to return to MZ. I came back, joined this club and decided to give my best in running this humble club. Back then at my first club I was still studying in school. I was still collecting pocket money and couldn't bear to buy the tokens to join the cups and the tours and all that. I was already working when i returned to MZ so I was kinda free to just spend on tokens and take part in cups and join the tours throughout the seasons. took me 3 seasons to get promoted from division 1 to the top division. I might be relegated this season but i don't really care as I have always dreamed of playing against the top clubs in my country and competing with some of the national players. the calibre of my team may be miles away from these successful clubs in my country but at least I know I do my best
