Have a look at the results this round and tell me something isn't suss. Absolute blatant cheating. Also been transfers between these teams too.

This game just punishes the people who do the right thing.

You mean that a brazilian team winning 19-0 against another brazilian team seems a bit suspicious? I guess that brazilian team has now a nice goal differential and will make it to the top division....

Unfortunately this type of behaviour is tolerated, what I mean by that is that while it is against the rules there is no punishment or fine involved, I remember a case like this in which an Argentinian GA was involved that caused an uproar and the result was multiple users banned from the forums for protesting and the GA got to keep his position as GA.

Conveniently pays his U18 team one game (never else has he and he hasn't sold up or anything like that). They have also made transfers between each other. All just corrupt as he'll. Second team or at least doing unethical deals.

There are some people out there pulling similar stunts, but not as blatantly. I happen to know two unnamed individuals who did this 'for fun' in a U18 World League a while ago. The match result for them was a modest 2-1, so it seemed legitimate, but in reality, it wasn't. (Take a wild guess at their country, hehe.)

At least those two guys were completely honest and open with you: "Yes, we are two damned jerks!"

But hey, I don't think you're being punished here. I actually believe the real punishment would be caring so much about a game to the point of plotting a ridiculous 19-0 scoreline.

Or perhaps the real punishment is simply being born in a third-world country.

Who knows.

Is more like they're friends or share the same federation, so they fix the game so the guy challenging for the title gets the win & 19 goals to help with goal differential too since it's a close race with the team that's 2nd... I'd be fuming if I was that 2nd placed team.

It's unfortunately a somewhat common practice to rig promotions & relegations & league winners among friends, as if winning anything just because someone gave you the points you need has any value or merit whatsoever, not only you get the hate of everyone else but you get a worthless title and a pixelated trophy that's even more worthless, I'd get it if at least you get some sort of monetary prize like an amazon gift card or something....

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

The game is broken and the assistant structure broken. Nobody is vetted and just given power and uses it the wrong way and to theory own advantage to take advantage of super poor cheating protocols

correct

It was the main reason why I decided to step aside.

I mean it's a complex problem that starts at the top, first you have the owner of the game which I know and is a nice guy but he surrounded himself with the wrong people, he got 2 crew members to be at the top of the support structure, one a very stubborn Italian guy that wispers in his ear, this guy never played the game but thinks he knows everything about it, his ideas are god sent and he's unwilling to listen to any suggestions, if you dare to tell him something he's doing is wrong or propose new ideas on how to do things better, then in his eyes you're the problem. The 2nd is the spanish crew guy that could easily be replaced by ChatGPT with advantage to ChatGPT as it can understand all languages.

Anyway, in his infinite wisdom the Italian crew gets the godsend idea of changing a support structure that has been working without major issues for 15 years and creates a new support structure, instead of a regional support he decides he'll have SuperMAs that he will call HMAs and one of the requisites for being an HMA is to agree with everything the Italian crew member thinks and also tell him all his ideas are the greatest and maybe once every few days you might also want to tell him how cunning and smart he is, there can be no room for ideas or proposals... so what happens in the end is that with a few exceptions, you end up with the worst possible people in charge of building a support structure, the few HMAs that are good usually resign in less than few months due to frustration and having to carry the rest of the lot.

As an example, with the old structure I was managing America support along with two other GMAs, we had at a time 45 GAs spread on different teams, we had a team to watch the market, another one to handle investiations and a third team to handle appeals. This system was working so good that the Italian crew got "inspired" by it and decided to adopt it globally but also "improve" it with his own ideas which I can describe and analyze in detail but this post is already too long.

Anyway, old structure we had 45 GAs just for America with specialized teams for each sector, current structure? They have 5 GAs, 4 Argentinians and 1 Venezuelan and not only that but they expect them to work more as it's not regional as in the past but global and also deal with lots of restrictions imposed on them on that they can and can't do... so you can't expect 5 poorly trained guys to do the job of 45 well trained assistants.

What they do have now and is mindblowing is a shitload of RAs in America, currently 57 RAs , that's just insanely crazy!!!! Why do they need 57 RAs?? Are they trying to transform MZ in The New York Times or something? Who actually controls this? Venezuela has 21 paying users (as per last cup registration), out of those 21 users you have 7 RAs.... but it can get more ridiculous, Bolivia has 3 paying users and 2 RAs... so you have 2 guys writting so another can read what they write? It's a joke!! That's how flawed the current support structure is that allows dumb situations like this.

A but of karma. Team who tanked to the other Braziliam team got relegates and the team who tried to improve their goal difference to be promoted didn't win and is stating down.

Just checked the standings, so the brazilian team lost the title because with just 4 games left got 2 losses, a tie and a win, the tie against the team that's last on the table.... the team that gave him the points & 19 goals got relegated, had he won that game instead of throwing it away he might have stayed up and you would have been relegated instead. That is funny indeed, karma put everything into place 😂
