After 8 minutes of play, Santamarina's Nicanor Nuñez made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Liviu Boeru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonides Sandaili, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Leonides Sandaili scored 1-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Liviu Boeru, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Honorato Eriz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Liviu Boeru made a huge save. The attack was good, but when Christian Derwin in the 23rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Liviu Boeru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leonides Sandaili in the 25th minute. Cornelio Silvanito hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute Leonides Sandaili shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liviu Boeru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Deportivo Cavernas booed when Santamarina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfonso Artal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leonides Sandaili's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute, Liviu Boeru skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Deportivo Cavernas's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ognyan Búchvarov in the 35th minute. The corner led Deportivo Cavernas's Ognyan Búchvarov to fire away a dangerous shot which Liviu Boeru despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.

Liviu Boeru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonides Sandaili, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60th match minute, Deportivo Cavernas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Garcia to maneuver through the defense. Donato Chayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Rocendo in the 64th minute of play. Dante Natanael hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 66th match minute, Deportivo Cavernas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Segundo James to maneuver through the defense. Santamarina's Liviu Boeru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorato Eriz in the 69th minute of play. 69 minutes into the game, Cornelio Leheren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santamarina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Cavernas the free kick. Manuel Rocendo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Chayo having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonides Sandaili in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Liviu Boeru saved Santamarina from getting behind. Segundo James received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Liviu Boeru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Romelio Neira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Deportivo Cavernas walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
