Introducing Head2Head

23-06-2011 17:00

Today marks the release of the first version of a brand new game mode called Head2Head.

Head2Head is for managers who want to get as close to the action as possible, testing strategies and making adjustments live based on unique match events and what the opponent is doing. Make tactic and rule changes at 15 minutes intervals, and then watch the results play out in a new analyser window.

After some testing by your local admins, we have decided to release this early version for everyone to try out. We will be updating this feature based on how you use it, so be sure to try it out, offer feedback in the Forum, and send any bug reports to h2htesting@powerchallenge.com (Please remember to include your match ID, browser, OS and Java versions. This will help us track problems faster).

How does it work?

Head2Head can be found under MATCHES > Head2Head.

First you will enter a lobby where you can challenge opponents to a match.

Once you have challenged or accepted a challenge, you are taken to the tactics screen. Here you can import a saved tactic, or drag and drop a new tactic.

Remember to confirm your tactic after each segment. Once the match has begun, you will have up to 2 minutes in each segment to set tactics, or your previous setting will carry over to the next turn.

The match is displayed live in the new analyser window to the left of your tactics area.

The timeline at the top shows goals, substitutions, cards and injuries. This information is also shown in the team roster on the right.

Be sure to save a valid tactic, the new editor works a little differently from the old one. However, if your players are too close they will still turn red. If you try and save an invalid tactic, you will receive a warning message.

After the match ends, you can return to the lobby. You also can review your old Head2Head matches from the MATCHES menu on the left.
