In the 7th minute, Artur Breckenfeld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 8 minutes into the match, Joesph Dietz notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of U21 Brazil's Christiano Madureira. Christiano Madureira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 39th minute of the match Kaká Cosme sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lyle Lane skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of U21 Brazil booed when U21 United States was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nathaniel McAlpin didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the match, U21 United States's goal looked a bit too open when Kaká Cosme came free, but Lyle Lane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sebastian Silva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lee Herrington might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christiano Madureira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lee Herrington ran back to his position shaking his head. U21 Brazil made a substitution. Tales Lopez replaced Nestor Quirino. After having played for 81 minutes, Lee Herrington managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 United States's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lee Herrington was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 83 minutes in the game, Cristóvão Abraão fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Lyle Lane having to interfere. In the 86th minute of the match Kaká Cosme shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lyle Lane showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Christiano Madureira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Val Michaud, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. A collision led to U21 United States getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Damien Jefferson hit a great ball. After 93 minutes of play, U21 Brazil's Tales Lopez made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lyle Lane was left in no man's land by his defense there! The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. U21 Brazil walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
