Carlos Augusto Queiroz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Vefik Hisar, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Luis Sampil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Augusto Queiroz having to interfere. Carlos Augusto Queiroz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luis Sampil's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Franco Orozco got free with Bogdan Lobonț in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Isac Mihălțan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Feliciano Uxio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bogdan Lobonț having to make a save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched ALEXANDRIA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
