The corner led Villa Mitre City's Urbano Mendiko to fire away a dangerous shot which Jairo Asteguieta despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ariel Ponc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aquiles Gana, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 20 minutes in the game, Aquiles Gana fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ariel Ponc having to interfere. AC Morena's Ercole Carosella was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ariel Ponc in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Aldo Di Biagio hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Ercole Carosella lost his temper 45 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 46th match minute, AC Morena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ercole Carosella to maneuver through the defense. Honorato Demesio took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jairo Asteguieta. Jairo Asteguieta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ferdinando Buccella was the one to do the kick off. If Aquiles Gana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ariel Ponc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aquiles Gana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Villa Mitre City's Ariel Ponc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aquiles Gana in the 58th minute of play. Álvaro Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Aquiles Gana managed to get in a good position for a shot. AC Morena's supporters rose to their feet, but Aquiles Gana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ariel Ponc breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 65th minute, Herminio Casomiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ariel Ponc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aquiles Gana in the 66th minute of play. AC Morena's Alex Buffone was substituted for Carlo Bussi. Villa Mitre City made a substitution. Long Yuan Di replaced Benigno Ibañez. Herminio Casomiro made in the 77th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Kenny Sparkes immediately put the ball in play. In the 79th match minute, AC Morena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferdinando De Simone to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Honorato Demesio in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jairo Asteguieta saved AC Morena from getting behind. Herminio Casomiro got a throw-in 83 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Honorato Demesio. Jairo Asteguieta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Honorato Demesio went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Villa Mitre City's zone, Aquiles Gana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ariel Ponc came out of the goal and Aquiles Gana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eloy Urdaspal kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Ariel Ponc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Buffone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Villa Mitre City supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Villa Mitre City would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
