The corner led A A Arizona's Vitinho do Valle to fire away a dangerous shot which Shi Feng Yun despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 胡振鸿 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldinho Ósvaldsson in the 45th minute of the match. In the 48th minute Jörg Michael shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 胡振鸿 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. São Wilson were awarded a corner in the 49th minute after A A Arizona's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Enrique Garcia took the corner. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Lyuboslav Penev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. São Wilson's Reynaldo Arce was substituted for João Paulo Antunes. São Wilson's Osvaldinho Ósvaldsson got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
