Zhuo Xuan Yu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Song Peng Xi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Rickard Erserman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Inter de Chillán's supporters rose to their feet, but Rickard Erserman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. François-Xavier Dionnet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Olympique Salonais's goalkeeper François-Xavier Dionnet, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Inter de Chillán's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tobías Izamit in the 20th minute. Rimas Ciparis was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Inter de Chillán's Zhuo Xuan Yu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Inter de Chillán from getting a goal against them. Zheng Liang Song could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Zhuo Xuan Yu made a huge save. With a little luck, Inter de Chillán's Zhuo Xuan Yu got control of the ball when Hector Etxepare tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rickard Erserman in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg François-Xavier Dionnet saved Olympique Salonais from getting behind. In the 42nd minute, Rickard Erserman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. François-Xavier Dionnet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rickard Erserman in the 44th minute of play. Zhuo Xuan Yu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zheng Liang Song in the 45th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hector Etxepare was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Rickard Erserman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. François-Xavier Dionnet was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Alfonso Sotta kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Inter de Chillán were awarded a corner in the 67th minute after Olympique Salonais's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tobías Izamit took the corner. Inter de Chillán's Clemente Jaen was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but François-Xavier Dionnet in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. François-Xavier Dionnet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eladio Araujo in the 95th minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Inter de Chillán eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
