A throw-in in the 15th minute of the game was made by Gonzalo Mogel with Diego Jaunzuria as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 23rd minute Miguel Almiron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florentino Herauso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Santa Lucia de Merlo's Polo Quinteros in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Florentino Herauso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Jaunzuria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Diego Jaunzuria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sacro Balompié's supporters rose to their feet, but Diego Jaunzuria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Florentino Herauso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Santa Lucia de Merlo's Polo Quinteros slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Baltasar Sancho. That made the score 1-0 after 41 minutes of play. Florentino Herauso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Almiron, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the game, Gaudencio Santos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sacro Balompié's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santa Lucia de Merlo the free kick. The supporters of Santa Lucia de Merlo booed when Sacro Balompié was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaudencio Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Miguel Almiron to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, M. Agus Young notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Sacro Balompié's Baltasar Sancho. Baltasar Sancho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Santa Lucia de Merlo's Florentino Herauso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Almiron in the 60th minute of play. Santa Lucia de Merlo's Aldo Hartz was substituted for Benjamin Lehoi. A collision led to Sacro Balompié getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Bonifacio Cedro hit a great ball. 76 minutes into the match, M. Agus Young had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Baltasar Sancho. Sacro Balompié's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that M. Agus Young was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After 82 minutes Santa Lucia de Merlo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Miguel Almiron who took care of the corner kick. Alvaro Llorienzo tried to clear up in front of Florentino Herauso but instead he got an unlucky hit on the ball which made it go via the left pole into goal meaning 3-1 in the 83rd matchminute. A very disappointing self made goal. The Santa Lucia de Merlo fans' excitement grew in the 94th match minute when Santa Lucia de Merlo's M. Agus Young looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. For all the effort they put into the match, the Sacro Balompié players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Santa Lucia de Merlo.
