Spectators: 7464 (Terracing: 5599, Seating: 1716, VIP seats: 149) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Horácio Lara took the kick off in the first half of the match. 4 minutes into the game, Afonso Paes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmeiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zacisze Częstochowa the free kick. Zacisze Częstochowa's Zdzislaw Kiepski got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Jeferson Trigo got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 20th minute Horácio Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wasyl Daszkowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Váldson de Queirós managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Zacisze Częstochowa's Zdzislaw Kiepski fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Palmeiras's Afonso Paes got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 26 minutes into the match, Zacisze Częstochowa's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso Paes came free, but Wasyl Daszkowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Walery Adamowicz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Váldson de Queirós was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Afonso Paes got a free kick in the 37th minute. The supporters of Palmeiras booed when Zacisze Częstochowa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Krzysztof Ludzia didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Palmeiras fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when Palmeiras's Afonso Paes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After the first half Palmeiras were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zdzislaw Kiepski was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Paes in the 54th minute of play forced Zacisze Częstochowa's goalkeeper Wasyl Daszkowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Krzysztof Ludzia charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Krzysztof Ludzia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Zacisze Częstochowa booed when Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dário Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Zdzislaw Kiepski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zacisze Częstochowa's supporters rose to their feet, but Zdzislaw Kiepski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Váldson de Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Horácio Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wasyl Daszkowski having to interfere. A collision led to Zacisze Częstochowa getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Napoleon Deput hit a great ball. Wasyl Daszkowski was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Horácio Lara showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 91 minute of play.
