Perivaldo Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucio Geofredo having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Higinio Jerano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgard Marques. Minotauro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Higinio Jerano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Higinio Jerano in the 12th minute of play forced Minotauro's goalkeeper Edgard Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Florida Gulf Coast's Lucio Geofredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jean Eger in the 13th minute of play. After 16 minutes, Kaká Recife mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Minotauro and the Florida Gulf Coast players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Minotauro's Kaká Recife got a free kick in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Florida Gulf Coast's goal looked a bit too open when Jean Eger came free, but Lucio Geofredo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgard Marques came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Florida Gulf Coast's Higinio Jerano. But to his dismay, Higinio Jerano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Minotauro's Edgard Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Higinio Jerano in the 25th minute of play. With a little luck, Florida Gulf Coast's Lucio Geofredo got control of the ball when Silvério Lima tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Minotauro defense, Leonardo Cuartio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edgard Marques. The Minotauro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edgard Marques should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Minotauro's zone, Aurelio Erruki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgard Marques came out of the goal and Aurelio Erruki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Minotauro defense, Higinio Jerano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edgard Marques. In the 41st minute, Higinio Jerano sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Minotauro's Edgard Marques didn't even have to move. In the 43rd match minute, Minotauro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaká Recife to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Higinio Jerano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Florida Gulf Coast's supporters rose to their feet, but Higinio Jerano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgard Marques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jean Eger made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Jean Eger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Minotauro's supporters rose to their feet, but Jean Eger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lucio Geofredo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 54th match minute, Florida Gulf Coast was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado Iliana to maneuver through the defense. 56 minutes into the game, Higinio Jerano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Edgard Marques was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jean Eger hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice moves Higinio Jerano could shoot a difficult shot in the 61st minute, which Edgard Marques however easily saved by the left post. Leonardo Cuartio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Higinio Jerano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Edgard Marques made a huge save. 69 minutes into the match, Minotauro's goal looked a bit too open when Aurelio Erruki came free, but Edgard Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Higinio Jerano scored 0-6 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edgard Marques, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Edgard Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Higinio Jerano, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 76 minutes into the match, Higinio Jerano dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Edgard Marques, 0-7. Minotauro's Edgard Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurelio Erruki in the 89th minute of play. When Severino Guerra fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Minotauro's protests and gave Severino Guerra a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 93rd minute of the game. One of Minotauro:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Florida Gulf Coast:s goal. The Minotauro fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Florida Gulf Coast were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
