The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Brugge United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 2nd minute, when Şehzade Tecer scored to the left of an out of position Charles De Meur, making the score, 1-0. Charles De Meur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nils Bengtsson in the 5th minute of play. A collision led to Brugge United getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Gertjan De Poorter hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nils Bengtsson got free with Charles De Meur in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Charles De Meur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nils Bengtsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute Nils Bengtsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles De Meur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Brugge United's zone, Şehzade Tecer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Charles De Meur came out of the goal and Şehzade Tecer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raphael Penha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pacho Carabajal in the 17th minute of play. The supporters of Mundial EC booed when Brugge United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raoul Lambert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raphael Penha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pacho Carabajal, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Charles De Meur made an important save on a dangerous shot by André Balada in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lander De Worteleer in the 26th minute of play forced Mundial EC's goalkeeper Raphael Penha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raphael Penha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raoul Lambert in the 28th minute of the match. With a little luck, Brugge United's Charles De Meur got control of the ball when André Balada tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mundial EC's Raphael Penha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zac Bal in the 33rd minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Mundial EC's goal looked a bit too open when Pacho Carabajal came free, but Raphael Penha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raoul Lambert took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Raphael Penha. Raphael Penha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 40 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goal looked a bit too open when Nils Bengtsson came free, but Charles De Meur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brugge United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 40th minute, when Nils Bengtsson scored to the left of an out of position Charles De Meur, making the score, 2-1. 44 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goalkeeper Charles De Meur had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nils Bengtsson. When Remo Aguiar fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mundial EC's protests and gave Remo Aguiar a yellow card for diving instead. Remo Aguiar kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. In the 47th minute, Pacho Carabajal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brugge United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Mundial EC's Raphael Penha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Mundial EC from getting a goal against them. Zac Bal's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Raphael Penha firmly grabbed it by the left post. Raphael Penha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lander De Worteleer in the 56th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Lander De Worteleer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Raphael Penha was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. In the 64th minute Nils Bengtsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles De Meur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Charles De Meur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nils Bengtsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 94th minute Nils Bengtsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles De Meur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 95 minutes of play, Mundial EC's Delfim Varela made it 5-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Charles De Meur was left in no man's land by his defense there! For all the effort they put into the match, the Brugge United players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mundial EC.
