Jonathan Negri took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fausto Mesquita. Fausto Mesquita dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 12th match minute, Coelho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edson Falcão to maneuver through the defense. Válter Martins's late challenge caught a Coelho FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Válter Martins helped the player get up and apologised. In the 14th match minute, Vascogoianiense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válter Martins to maneuver through the defense. It was beautiful to see Coelho FC's Edson Falcão in action when he in the 16th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Nestor Lopes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruninho Veloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Jonathan Negri notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Vascogoianiense FC's Fausto Mesquita. Fausto Mesquita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 30 played minutes Coelho FC got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Britto. Nestor Lopes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bruninho Veloso in the 32nd minute. Fausto Mesquita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Negri in the 40th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Alfredinho Paraense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coelho FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfredinho Paraense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fausto Mesquita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Agnaldo Fernandez hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Toninho Britto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fausto Mesquita. Vascogoianiense FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonathan Negri was the one to do the kick off. With an all-out effort, Coelho FC's Fausto Mesquita threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alfredinho Paraense, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience was convinced that Jonathan Negri's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fausto Mesquita was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. After 61 minutes, Alfredinho Paraense made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Vascogoianiense FC's Fausto Mesquita tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Alfredinho Paraense struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Fausto Mesquita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coelho FC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonathan Negri in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fausto Mesquita prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fausto Mesquita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Negri, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Fausto Mesquita stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jonathan Negri's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Vascogoianiense FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 86th minute, when Alfredinho Paraense scored to the left of an out of position Fausto Mesquita, making the score, 0-5. Fausto Mesquita was a little too slow when Alfredinho Paraense got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 0-6. A collision led to Coelho FC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Toninho Britto hit a great ball. Coelho FC's Nestor Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandão Matos in the 96th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Coelho FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
