The supporters of SE Palmeiras booed when Gutenberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaudencio Aragones didn't get a good kick on the ball. Santo Dominguez made in the 26th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by SE Palmeiras's Elivélton Valle. Michel Marques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Inocencio Gimenez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Gutenberg's goalkeeper Inocencio Gimenez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ruy Gerber. Inocencio Gimenez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ruy Gerber in the 30th minute. With a little luck, Gutenberg's Inocencio Gimenez got control of the ball when Ruy Gerber tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 36 played minutes SE Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Ruy Gerber. 40 minutes into the game, Ruy Gerber cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Inocencio Gimenez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to SE Palmeiras getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Ruy Gerber hit a great ball. SE Palmeiras's Robinho de Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Desiderio Gonzales in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Desiderio Gonzales was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th match minute, SE Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michel Marques to maneuver through the defense. Robinho de Sena was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Desiderio Gonzales's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Robinho de Sena was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. The SE Palmeiras players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
