U21 Chile's Vicente Calderón quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Nistor Hrean, made in the 10th minute of the game. Hipolito Fritz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chiquito Escalante in the 16th minute of the match. Cristopher Damian could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Hugo Araya made a huge save. Hugo Araya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Huilipan in the 25th minute of play. Hipolito Fritz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chiquito Escalante in the 37th minute of the match. Cristian Insaurralde took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hipolito Fritz. Hipolito Fritz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Hipolito Fritz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Insaurralde in the 42nd minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristian Insaurralde was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Rodrigo Huilipan made a precise shot to the right of Hugo Araya. Zorros del Desierto's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Zorros del Desierto's Nistor Hrean managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Vicente Calderón in the 59 minute of the game. Hipolito Fritz made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Cristian Insaurralde sent off a good shot on target. Hipolito Fritz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chiquito Escalante in the 64th minute of the match. Hipolito Fritz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chiquito Escalante in the 66th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Zorros del Desierto's Chiquito Escalante dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Fermín Montes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hipolito Fritz having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Chiquito Escalante took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Hipolito Fritz to make any attempt to save it. In the 82nd minute of the match Zorros del Desierto got a corner. U21 Chile's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Liberto Aedo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Liberto Aedo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but U21 Chile's Hipolito Fritz did a great save. 83 minutes into the match, U21 Chile's goalkeeper Hipolito Fritz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Insaurralde. In the 85th minute, Rodrigo Huilipan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hipolito Fritz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chiquito Escalante, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. A throw-in in the 90th minute of the game was made by Marcel Wassermayer with Rodrigo Huilipan as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Chiquito Escalante did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-5 to the left of a surprised Hipolito Fritz 95 minutes into the match. Chants of Zorros del Desierto echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as U21 Chile had held the ball for most of the match.
