After 17 minutes Olympique Salonais's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mahsun Ergalip who took care of the corner kick. Olympique Salonais's François-Xavier Dionnet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Batista in the 25th minute of play. François-Xavier Dionnet didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ruben Casado went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. François-Xavier Dionnet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Batista in the 33rd minute of the match. Olympique Salonais's Ma Chao Yong got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute Olympique Salonais were awarded a corner. Ma Chao Yong went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 42nd minute, Ma Chao Yong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ruben Casado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but François-Xavier Dionnet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. 45 minutes into the game, Jean-Christophe Grenard was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Olympique Salonais's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Colognese FC the free kick. After the first half Colognese FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hector Etxepare was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Colognese FC's goal looked a bit too open when Song Peng Xi came free, but Alfredinho Carneiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfredinho Carneiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zheng Liang Song in the 55th minute of play. Colognese FC's Alfredinho Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Song Peng Xi in the 60th minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Colognese FC's goal looked a bit too open when Song Peng Xi came free, but Alfredinho Carneiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hector Etxepare in the 66th minute of play forced Colognese FC's goalkeeper Alfredinho Carneiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Colognese FC's Alfredinho Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Etxepare in the 80th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hector Etxepare in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredinho Carneiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 84 minutes into the match, Hector Etxepare had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfredinho Carneiro. Colognese FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hector Etxepare was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Olympique Salonais's Hilario Chale was substituted for Song Peng Xi. Olympique Salonais's François-Xavier Dionnet proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Olympique Salonais from getting a goal against them. Ruben Casado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but François-Xavier Dionnet made a huge save. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
