Basílio Paraibano started the match with the kick off. 7 minutes into the game, Alberto Carvalho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Social Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Torreão OFF the free kick. Alberto Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Torreão OFF's Cláudio Teles dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Torreão OFF's Cláudio Teles got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nelson da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cláudio Teles in the 16th minute of play. Nelson da Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zézinho Cosme in the 21st minute of the match. Nelson da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cláudio Teles in the 25th minute of play. In the 25th match minute, Social Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Fernando Salles to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Zézinho Cosme took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Nelson da Silveira to make any attempt to save it. Nelson da Silveira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cláudio Teles in the 32nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Torreão OFF's Dênis Peixoto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nelson da Silveira. That made the score 3-0 after 33 minutes of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Ismael Aparecido managed to get in a good position for a shot. Social Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Ismael Aparecido was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudinei Alvarenga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 43rd minute, Torreão OFF's Cláudio Teles dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. Dênis Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelson da Silveira having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The wind increased when Cláudio Teles made the kick off in the second half. Nelson da Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dênis Peixoto in the 53rd minute of the match. 55 minutes into the match, Social Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Dênis Peixoto came free, but Nelson da Silveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nelson da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cláudio Teles in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dênis Peixoto in the 65th minute of play forced Social Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Nelson da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute of the match Torreão OFF got a corner. Social Futebol Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Olívio Paiva ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Torreão OFF's Olívio Paiva to fire away a dangerous shot which Nelson da Silveira despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of Torreão OFF booed when Social Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Soeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Cláudio Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cláudio Teles in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nelson da Silveira saved Social Futebol Clube from getting behind. Giuseppe Barbosa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nelson da Silveira having to make a save. Nelson da Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cláudio Teles in the 86th minute of the match. Nelson da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dênis Peixoto in the 88th minute of play. After some careless play in the Social Futebol Clube defense, Fernandinho Gaúcho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nelson da Silveira. The Social Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nelson da Silveira should have stopped the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Torreão OFF had played much better football throughout.
