After 2 minutes of play, Hogwarts's Csaba Tar made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Walter Huarte was left in no man's land by his defense there! 5 minutes into the match, Astillero del Guayas's goal looked a bit too open when Csaba Tar came free, but Walter Huarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ibarra Iribe kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Walter Huarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Csaba Tar in the 9th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Astillero del Guayas defense, Csaba Tar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Walter Huarte. The Astillero del Guayas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Walter Huarte should have stopped the shot. After 12 played minutes Astillero del Guayas got a freekick which was hit by Ibarra Iribe. Cevallos Provencio kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Astillero del Guayas's Walter Huarte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Csaba Tar in the 15th minute of play. Xavier Pantoja hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After having played for 19 minutes, Cevallos Provencio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Astillero del Guayas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cevallos Provencio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 25th minute, Baldeón Bretal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th minute of the match Leonel Inautzi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Walter Huarte showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 0-4 became the score in the 30th minute when Csaba Tar elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paredes Campderros in the 33rd minute of play forced Hogwarts's goalkeeper Stasio Serwach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Baldeón Bretal fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Astillero del Guayas's protests and gave Baldeón Bretal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th match minute, Astillero del Guayas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baldeón Bretal to maneuver through the defense. Leonel Inautzi ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Hogwarts's Leonel Inautzi to fire away a dangerous shot which Walter Huarte despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 46th minute, Csaba Tar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sebastian Caicedo to make the kick off. Hogwarts's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Leonel Inautzi in the 55th minute. Csaba Tar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cevallos Provencio kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Csaba Tar did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-5 to the left of a surprised Walter Huarte 61 minutes into the match. The supporters of Hogwarts booed when Astillero del Guayas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cevallos Provencio didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Hogwarts's Csaba Tar slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Walter Huarte. That made the score 0-6 after 66 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sebastian Caicedo got free with Walter Huarte in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Csaba Tar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walter Huarte having to interfere. Walter Huarte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Csaba Tar in the 83rd minute of play. Astillero del Guayas's Walter Huarte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Astillero del Guayas from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sebastian Caicedo got free with Walter Huarte in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Astillero del Guayas supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Hogwarts's performance. The match ended with a win for Hogwarts.
