Pavlos Konstantakakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cássio Ferraz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute Rômulo Custódio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pavlos Konstantakakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Valdo Dantas was the one to do the kick off. Gianni Balla might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abelardo Maranhense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hamburg Fighters's Szilárd Újváry got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 62nd minute Cássio Ferraz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pavlos Konstantakakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
