Fausto Ferraz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cauã Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Toninho Moura made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcel Abreu in the 16th minute. Dário Diniz hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. A collision led to S.E.R. Caxias do Sul getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Kauã Vander hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Marcel Abreu could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Toninho Moura however easily saved by the left post. Fausto Ferraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cauã Barreto in the 30th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Marcel Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcel Abreu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Toninho Moura breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Victor Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Cauã Barreto made the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Luizão Prata mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.E.R. Caxias do Sul and the Wambalamba FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Toninho Moura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcel Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. The supporters of S.E.R. Caxias do Sul booed when Wambalamba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egídio Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vito Ortiz hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After 63 played minutes, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Dagoberto Esteves shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Toninho Moura came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. João Paulo Dantas hit a great ball. The supporters of Wambalamba FC booed when S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kauã Vander didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Paulo Motta in the 81st minute of play forced S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Fausto Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute, Zé Paulo Motta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Wambalamba FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Kauã Vander got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Toninho Moura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcel Abreu in the 89th minute of the match. Cauã Barreto's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 96thth minute, Fausto Ferraz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The S.E.R. Caxias do Sul supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Wambalamba FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Wambalamba FC.
