In the 12th minute, Dorival Rezende hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 19 minutes into the match, ♣¥ OS IMPOSSIVEIS ¥♣'s Lauro de Medeiros sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hortêncio Figueiredo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Henrique Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. José Vítor da Mata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 27 minutes, Hortêncio Figueiredo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Hortêncio Figueiredo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Witold Gotfryd in the 30th minute. Febre Amarela's Evaristo Pirani got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 33 played minutes Febre Amarela got a freekick which was hit by Nestor Moraes. Hortêncio Figueiredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedé de Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Dedé de Toledo scored 1-0 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hortêncio Figueiredo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Febre Amarela's Hortêncio Figueiredo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Febre Amarela from getting a goal against them. Tião Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hortêncio Figueiredo having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Washington Lago in the 41st minute of play forced ♣¥ OS IMPOSSIVEIS ¥♣'s goalkeeper José Vítor da Mata to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 43 played minutes Febre Amarela got a freekick which was hit by Nestor Moraes. ♣¥ OS IMPOSSIVEIS ¥♣'s Witold Gotfryd couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Febre Amarela. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Henrique Ribeiro made the kick off in the second half. Hortêncio Figueiredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tião Messias in the 54th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lauro de Medeiros in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hortêncio Figueiredo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hortêncio Figueiredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dedé de Toledo in the 64th minute of play. Ernesto Ramalho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hortêncio Figueiredo having to make a save. Tião Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Hortêncio Figueiredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Vítor da Mata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrique Ribeiro in the 81st minute of play. In the 82nd match minute, Febre Amarela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severino Tinoco to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dedé de Toledo during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dedé de Toledo hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Ramalho in the 87th minute of play forced Febre Amarela's goalkeeper Hortêncio Figueiredo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hortêncio Figueiredo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Witold Gotfryd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Washington Lago fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Febre Amarela's protests and gave Washington Lago a yellow card for diving instead. After 93 played minutes Febre Amarela got a freekick which was hit by Washington Lago. An unexpectedly hard shot by Witold Gotfryd in the 96th minute of play forced Febre Amarela's goalkeeper Hortêncio Figueiredo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ♣¥ OS IMPOSSIVEIS ¥♣'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
