Spectators: 165 (Terracing: 124, Seating: 38, VIP seats: 3) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Torcato Portela got the match started through his kick off. 2 minutes into the game, Sporting Clube de Gaya's Ivaylo Yordanov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Francisco Castanheira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Ivaylo Yordanov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Francisco Castanheira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teachers FC's Francisco Castanheira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivaylo Yordanov in the 10th minute of play. After 12 minutes, Rui Bento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Teachers FC and the Sporting Clube de Gaya players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th match minute, Teachers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Bento to maneuver through the defense. Ivaylo Yordanov might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Francisco Castanheira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ivaylo Yordanov ran back to his position shaking his head. Salvador Viegas scored 0-2 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Francisco Castanheira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Sporting Clube de Gaya's Mário Durães got a free kick in the 24th minute. Francisco Castanheira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivaylo Yordanov in the 33rd minute of the match. When Ivaylo Yordanov came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Sporting Clube de Gaya fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivaylo Yordanov couldn't finish the play. After having played for 39 minutes, Jairo Aires managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Clube de Gaya's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jairo Aires was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Sporting Clube de Gaya's Gonçalo Coelho got a free kick in the 41st minute. Torcato Portela shot from long distance in the 41st minute, but Donato Viana was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Rui Bento kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After the first half Sporting Clube de Gaya were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ivaylo Yordanov was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Sporting Clube de Gaya's Salvador Viegas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Francisco Castanheira. Francisco Castanheira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. In the 58th match minute, Sporting Clube de Gaya was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mustapha Hadji to maneuver through the defense. If Ivaylo Yordanov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Castanheira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Salvador Viegas, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 74th match minute, Teachers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saúl Travassos to maneuver through the defense. If Salvador Viegas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Plácido Fontoura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Viana having to interfere. Salvador Viegas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Francisco Castanheira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Salvador Viegas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ivaylo Yordanov got free with Francisco Castanheira in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
