Anthony Giles made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Bret McOliver sent off a good shot on target. After 12 played minutes Chelsea Headhunters got a freekick which was hit by Ben Fife. Bodibeua Jameson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Anthony Giles. Chelsea Headhunters's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 13 played minutes Chelsea Headhunters got a freekick which was hit by Harry McBain. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bret McOliver in the 21st minute of play forced Chelsea Headhunters's goalkeeper Anthony Giles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Harry McBain kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. 24 minutes into the match, Dalkey United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Terence Whyte came free, but Denny McFrank reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dalkey United FC's Denny McFrank played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Terence Whyte in the 25th minute of play. Arthur McGillegowie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Denny McFrank tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Denny McFrank made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Terence Whyte in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Terence Whyte in the 33rd minute of play forced Dalkey United FC's goalkeeper Denny McFrank to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 35 played minutes Chelsea Headhunters got a freekick which was hit by Anthony McHendrie. The supporters of Dalkey United FC booed when Chelsea Headhunters was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harry McBain didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Dalkey United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Michael Murphy came free, but Denny McFrank reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Michael Murphy to make the kick off. Michael Murphy kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Anthony Giles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bret McOliver in the 57th minute of play. After 57 played minutes Chelsea Headhunters got a freekick which was hit by Anthony McHendrie. After having played for 60 minutes, Heremon McLiam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dalkey United FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heremon McLiam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 63rd play minute Arthur McGillegowie came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Denny McFrank. 1-1. Terence Whyte hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. 86 minutes into the match, Chelsea Headhunters's goal looked a bit too open when Bret McOliver came free, but Anthony Giles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Beachain Cooney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
