In the 2nd minute, Santiago Teodor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Melquiades Haimar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Endura in the 4th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Filiberto Meder had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Melquiades Haimar. APOLION's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Filiberto Meder was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Santiago Teodor kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in APOLION's zone, Eduardo Endura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melquiades Haimar came out of the goal and Eduardo Endura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. APOLION's Santiago Teodor got his second yellow card of the match in the 14th minute. The referee ordered Santiago Teodor off the ground. Santiago Teodor hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Vladimiro Bartoli took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Melquiades Haimar. APOLION's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Bruno Sabin hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 18th match minute, Caballeritos del Baile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimiro Bartoli to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to APOLION getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Cesar Orlan hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Endura in the 22nd minute of play forced APOLION's goalkeeper Melquiades Haimar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to APOLION getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Cesar Orlan hit a great ball. After 25 played minutes, Caballeritos del Baile's Vladimiro Bartoli shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Melquiades Haimar came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Caballeritos del Baile reached it. APOLION's Melquiades Haimar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduardo Endura in the 28th minute of play. When Caballeritos del Baile's Eduardo Endura in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye APOLION's goalie prevented a goal. In the 30th minute Eduardo Endura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melquiades Haimar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, APOLION's goal looked a bit too open when Eduardo Endura came free, but Melquiades Haimar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Melquiades Haimar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonides Tulio in the 36th minute of the match. After 37 played minutes APOLION got a freekick which was hit by Benito Monico. The supporters of Caballeritos del Baile booed when APOLION was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benito Monico didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute of the match Vladimiro Bartoli shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Melquiades Haimar showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Zeledon Roldan's late challenge caught a Caballeritos del Baile's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zeledon Roldan helped the player get up and apologised. After the first half Caballeritos del Baile were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benito Monico made a kick off. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Caballeritos del Baile! Carolo Goyo placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Melquiades Haimar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Endura in the 56th minute of the match. In the 59thth minute of the game Eduardo Endura who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but APOLION's Melquiades Haimar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Melquiades Haimar made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Filiberto Meder sent off a good shot on target. After 70 played minutes APOLION got a freekick which was hit by Cipriano Palban. The supporters of Caballeritos del Baile booed when APOLION was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benito Monico didn't get a good kick on the ball. Melquiades Haimar acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 74th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Vladimiro Bartoli. After 77 minutes, Bruno Sabin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caballeritos del Baile and the APOLION players grew even worse after the yellow card. Silvestre Franco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cesar Orlan in the 81st minute of the match. With a little luck, APOLION's Melquiades Haimar got control of the ball when Leonides Tulio tried to sneak it across the goal line. With an all-out effort, Caballeritos del Baile's Melquiades Haimar threw himself towards the right post 93 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eduardo Endura, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Caballeritos del Baile were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over APOLION's much stronger midfield.
