In the 9th minute, Gerson Furlan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Clube Atlético Luziense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 12 played minutes Clube Atlético Luziense got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fábio Bueno. After recieving a nice pass, SAS's Joel Macedo tried to score from far away in the 12th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Gerson Furlan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Clube Atlético Luziense booed when SAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Germano Bertassi didn't get a good kick on the ball. SAS's Elias Vieira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerson Furlan in the 17th minute of play. 19 minutes into the game, Clube Atlético Luziense's Luciano Rodrigues nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Elias Vieira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After 22 minutes, Andrézinho Secco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clube Atlético Luziense and the SAS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of SAS booed when Clube Atlético Luziense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrézinho Secco didn't get a good kick on the ball. 37 minutes into the game, Germano Bertassi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SAS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube Atlético Luziense the free kick. A collision led to SAS getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Germano Bertassi hit a great ball. In the 38th minute, Gerson Furlan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elias Vieira was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3.

After a rather tough play, SAS's Erik Leite got a free kick in the 50th minute. Luciano Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 58th minute Antônio Carlos Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dadá da Mata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Germano Bertassi hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. A collision led to SAS getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Joel Macedo hit a great ball. 70 minutes into the game, Gerson Furlan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Elias Vieira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 72 minutes into the match, SAS's goalkeeper Elias Vieira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luciano Rodrigues. SAS's Elias Vieira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Rodrigues in the 79th minute of play. After 80 played minutes Clube Atlético Luziense got a freekick which was hit by Luciano Rodrigues. Dadá da Mata came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by SAS's Antônio Carlos Machado. But to his dismay, Antônio Carlos Machado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Gerson Furlan struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Elias Vieira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clube Atlético Luziense. In the 86th match minute, SAS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto da Rocha to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luciano Rodrigues got free with Elias Vieira in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Elias Vieira was a little too slow when Gerson Furlan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 93rd minute. The score was now 1-5. Clube Atlético Luziense's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
